Working with Steven has been an incredibly rewarding and worthwhile experience. During the year that we have worked together, we’ve added 50kg to my total. Along with this, he has taught me how to be a better athlete not just for myself but those around me as well.

When I started under Steven, I was coming off the tail end of an injury and self programming aimlessly after leaving my previous coach. He took me in 7 weeks out from my first meet and made the changes necessary to lock in a squat and deadlift PR. Since then, we’ve been making steady but predictable progress block-to-block.

I have worked with other high level coaches in the past and I can say confidently that the amount of care he puts into the service he provides is second to none. His knowledge base is undoubtedly , but he’s always looking to improve himself as a coach, whether it be through experimentation/adjustments in programming or communication. His coaching is multifaceted and tailors my training to my needs and lifestyle.

He has always been extremely attentive to my training, life factors, as well as any and all other variables. I’m nowhere near his strongest athlete but I always felt that I was being heard and given just as much care as his strongest athletes in his roster. I worked though injuries with him, overcame many hurdles in training, and dialed in all the variables necessary to ensure progression.

As many have said before me, Steven is wise beyond his years. The qualities I have outlined are not nearly enough to put into words to describe him as a coach. There is a reason he is held in such high regard by both his peers and athletes. His passion for all things encompassing powerlifting is apparent and infectious. He genuinely cares about the accomplishments and progress of all his athletes. If you’re looking for a coach who is not only knowledgeable and skilled but also genuinely invested in your growth as an athlete, I would highly recommend Steven. Thank you, Steven, for being an incredible coach and mentor in my journey thus far.
